Dinner
is a time for family to discuss and share what is going
on during the day of each family member. The French, as
most Latin type of culture, see family as an essential
part of life and they always show that they care! This
makes dinner one of most important activities in a day.
Meat normally take a great part in French cuisine and,
famous for its delicacy, it is hard to be vegetarian in
France.

Generally,
the schools start at 08.30 and end at 17.30. French
students are expected to read their textbooks at home
and take a lot of notes in classes. Host parents often
interfere in exchange students’ school life at first
to help them through their daily lessons, homework,
tests and assignments. Teens usually spend their weekends
with friends, as there isn’t enough time during the
week when they have to focus on their school assignments.
