Eiffel tower is known as a symbol of France, however, there is much more about this country than meet the eyes. How many places in the world that you can enjoy the famous cuisine of delicacy under the historical atmosphere is an unforgettable experience?

Dinner is a time for family to discuss and share what is going on during the day of each family member. The French, as most Latin type of culture, see family as an essential part of life and they always show that they care! This makes dinner one of most important activities in a day. Meat normally take a great part in French cuisine and, famous for its delicacy, it is hard to be vegetarian in France.

Generally, the schools start at 08.30 and end at 17.30. French students are expected to read their textbooks at home and take a lot of notes in classes. Host parents often interfere in exchange students’ school life at first to help them through their daily lessons, homework, tests and assignments. Teens usually spend their weekends with friends, as there isn’t enough time during the week when they have to focus on their school assignments.

When the students first arrive, they will attend a welcome orientation in Paris with other exchange students and they will meet their host family afterward. Arrival orientation will take place after the second or third week in a local region to share impressions of their stay in France with other students. There are a mid-year orientation to deepen student knowledge about French culture and a re-entry orientation to prepare students to return home. Other meetings in the regions depend on the volunteer field.
